Terms

Hystorie asks questions and keeps the answers. It is provided by Conjora Limited, registered in Ireland. By using it you accept these terms. If you do not, the free tier is easy to walk away from and we would rather you did that than agree to something you disliked.

Your archive is yours. The words, the photographs, the recordings — you keep all rights in them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store the content, to show it to people you have shared it with, to send it to the AI interviewer so it can ask the next question, and to reproduce it when you print or export it.

That permission is limited to operating Hystorie. We do not publish archives, use them in marketing, sell them, or use them to train AI models, and we do not permit our providers to do so either.

An archive is reached by a long random link, and edit rights are held by a key stored in your browser. Anyone with the link can read the archive, so share it deliberately. Keep the link, and give an email address if you want a reliable way back to it.

You are responsible for what you put in and for who you send links to. Do not record other people’s private information where you have no business doing so, and do not use Hystorie to store material that is unlawful, or to harass or defame anyone.

Prices are shown on the pricing page and are charged per archive, once. There is no subscription and nothing renews. An archive already paid for is never re-priced if prices change later.

A term buys the period during which you can keep adding to an archive, and our commitment to keep it available. At the end of the term the archive is sealed: nothing more can be added, and it remains readable at the same link.

Reaching a plan limit stops you adding. It never removes, hides or expires anything already in an archive, and it never disables a link somebody was sent. That is a term of this agreement, not just a design choice.

If you change your mind within 14 days of buying a term, write to hello@conjora.ie and we will refund it in full. This is in addition to any statutory rights you have as a consumer in the EU, which we do not attempt to exclude.

The funeral notice is drafted the moment you ask for it, and redrafting it is free and unlimited, so it is not refundable once a draft has been produced. If it fails to produce anything usable, tell us and we will put it right.

The notice is written only from what your family recorded, and it is instructed never to invent anything — dates, places and details it cannot find come back as blanks for you to fill rather than as guesses. It is still a draft produced by software.

Read it before you use it. Check every name, date and fact against what you know. It is not legal, professional or funeral-directing advice, and we are not responsible for what is published or read aloud from it.

We will keep your archive available for the term you paid for. We take that seriously enough to have built the product around it: terms are sold once and archives are sealed at the end of one, precisely so the obligation stays something we can meet.

We cannot promise that no company ever fails, and you should not accept that promise from anyone selling you a hundred years. So instead of asking you to trust it:

• Every archive can be printed or saved as a PDF at any time, on any plan, free. It is not behind a paywall and never will be.
• If we ever had to stop running Hystorie, we would give at least 90 days’ notice by email to every owner we have an address for, and keep exports working throughout.
• If we ceased within a paid term, we would refund the unused part of it.

Please take an export now and then anyway. Keeping your own copy is the only guarantee nobody can revoke.

You can delete an archive at any time, and deletion is real — the stored files go too.

We may suspend or remove an archive that is unlawful, that is being used to harass someone, or that puts the service or other people at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export it. We will not remove an archive simply because we would rather not host it.

We provide Hystorie with reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your rights under Irish and EU consumer law.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability in connection with Hystorie is limited to the amount you paid for the archive concerned. We are not liable for loss of content where you have not kept your own export, which is free and always available.

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country.

If we change these terms the date at the top changes with them. Changes do not alter the term or the price of an archive already paid for.
